A COMMUNITY group for new parents is set to meet for the first time since lockdown.
Wivenhoe Bumps & Babies is run by Laura Gates.
But the group has not been able to meet since February due to the coronavirus restrictions.
With no news on when they could reopen Laura decided to organise a socially distanced get together.
It will take place at the King George IV Playing Field in Wivenhoe on Friday from 10am to 2pm.
Laura said: "I run a non profit community group in Wivenhoe and we haven’t been about to open our group and still have no idea when .
"Being a lockdown mum myself I thought and felt it was incredible important to get things moving again.
"So I’m planning a lockdown picnic.
"Our group hasn’t been running since February and it will be the first time that new parents and especially lockdown parents can meet up safely."
The meet up is for parents of babies born since September 2019 but all family members can attend.
Those who go along can come and go as they please.
