POLICE have named a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash along a country lane.

Tim Cook, 28, died after the BMW motorbike he was riding was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen up.

The smash happened along the B1052 Walden Road between Hadstock and Little Walden, in Uttlesford, around 6.15pm on Wednesday, August 19.

Mr Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have now paid tribute to him, and desrcibed Mr Cook as a "dearly loved son, brother, boyfriend and friend to everyone that knew him".

They say Mr Cook was training to be a fully qualified optician and he liked scuba diving, magic and had a passion for cars and motorbikes.

He was also said to have a zest for life and was "never known without a smile or a cheeky grin".

Detectives are continuing to investigate the fatal crash and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Det Con Martyn Wells, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Tim’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

"We would urge any witnesses which may have dash cam footage who we have not spoken with yet to please come forward. You can submit information through our website or call my team on 101.
