DRIVERS are facing queues after roadworks began in Colchester.
Stop go signs are being used to direct traffic while Essex Highways carries out work on Axial Way.
The roadworks are so a surface extension treatment trial programme can be carried out on the road.
Queues are already forming on Severalls Lane and around the roundabout at the Axial Way junction.
One resident said: "They look like they are going to close one lane and be working from the entrance of the new housing development towards the roundabout at Severalls lane.
"They have started workand the traffic is now queueing up Severalls Lane towards Mill Road."
Details of the works show it is due to run until Friday, August 7.
