TWO new classrooms are set to be created at a school for children with autism to accommodate for new social distancing measures.
Doucecroft School, in Abbott's Lane, Eight Ash Green, has applied for planning permission to alter the inside of a building at the site.
The move will help the school create two new teaching areas, each with their own external doors.
The application says the redevelopment will help the school meet social distancing requirements by further separating pupils.
A planning report states: "The block to be altered sits within in the centre of its own grounds and has a vehicular approach to the principle entrance."
Colchester Council will have the final say on the plans.
