A picturesque north Essex village has been named as one of the most 'Instagrammable' in Britain, according to new research.

Property website Bankrate has compiled a list of the prettiest places in the country.

It used image-sharing site Instagram and assessed the number of hashtags 100 villages dotted around the UK had been mentioned in.

Once this data was compiled it created a top 20 ranking of the most hashtagged villages in Britain.

Dedham, in the heart of Constable Country, was named in the 11th place with 57,078 hits.

It came above the likes of Lynmouth in Devon, Warkworth in Northumberland and Leavenheath in neighbouring Suffolk.
