FREE trees are being offered to community groups and schools to plant a part of the country’s environmentally friendly recovery process.
The Woodland Trust is offering schools and community groups across the country free trees to plant in autumn to aid the green recovery.
The tree packs contain anywhere between 15 and 420 native trees such as hazel, rowan, hawthorn, common oak, silver birch, wild cherry, elder, dogwood and holly.
Senior project lead Vicki Baddeley said: “Our free trees for schools and community groups give us the opportunity to create more of these spaces and address the climate and nature crises at grassroots level.
“We’ve heard a lot about economic recovery as a result of the coronavirus but you can’t make the economy more resilient without making the environment resilient too.”
To order a pack of free trees, visit the Woodland Trust website before August 19.
