POLICE have confirmed a woman died after falling from a second floor window.

The emergency services were called to the scene of an incident in Trinity Court in Halstead.

Essex Police have confirmed they were called by a woman suffering a mental health crisis.

It was reported afterwards a woman had fallen from a second floor window.

She was taken to hospital but sadly died the same day.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 12.40am on Sunday, June 28, by a woman in mental health crisis in Halstead.

"We attended an address in Trinity Court shortly afterwards before our officers reported that the woman had fallen from a second floor window while they were outside.

"She was taken to hospital but sadly died at around 2.55pm that day.

"We are treating her death as unexplained but non-suspicious and have ruled out any third party involvement.

"A file will be prepared for Her Majesty’s Coroner.

"We have put appropriate welfare procedures in place to support the officers who attended this incident."
