A LITTLE girl who loves visiting Colchester Zoo has created a charity walking challenge to help feed the beloved animals.
Pier Molloy Gregory, nine, is walking three miles a day to help support the Maldon Road attraction which has been hit by lost revenue during lockdown.
Within days of starting her challenge Pier has already raised £500 and hopes to reach her target of £1,000.
Mum Rebecca said: “We heard on the news that Colchester zoo was running out of money and struggling to feed the animals due to the coronavirus.
“My daughter was so worried about them.
"She adores animals and even as a small child she looked after all the bugs as and carried snails around on her arms.
“The zoo is very important to Pier.
“We went there a while ago and she loved every minute of it, all animals mean the world to her, and she wants to help as much as she.
“She decided then as she was so upset that she wanted to raise money to help feed them."
