DIVERS and search teams have been present at Wayoh reservoir for a second day, amid a search for a missing man from Bury.

On Saturday, more than 30 volunteers from Bolton Mountain Rescue Team aided in the search for John Woodman, 56, who was last seen in Spring Vale Drive, Tottington at around 10.30pm on Friday, May 22.

Mr Woodman's car has been found close to the reservoir outside the Black Bull Inn in Edgworth.

They were joined at Wayoh Reservoir in Edgworth by Greater Manchester Police, Lancashire Police and the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit.

Divers and search teams were spotted today conducting further searches.

Bolton Mountain Rescue Team said: "At 13.30 on Saturday the team was contacted by Greater Manchester Police to request our assistance in the search for a missing 56-year-old male in the vicinity of Wayoh Reservoir.

"30 team members attended and searched land surrounding the reservoir on foot and by boat, alongside resources from GMP, Lancashire Police and the North West Police Underwater Search & Marine Unit. At the time of writing the male is still missing."

Mr Woodman is described as being approximately 6ft 2in tall and of a medium build.

He may be wearing a yellow t-shirt, blue tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Police believe he was driving a blue Ford Galaxy registration FG62 UFJ, which was the vehicle found near the reservoir outside the Black Bull Inn.

He left his mobile phone and bank card at home and police officers have said that they "are becoming increasingly concerned for John and want to make sure he is safe and well."
