ANOTHER two patients who tested positive for coronavirus have died at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital.

The latest figures from NHS England, released on Friday, confirm the deaths at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

The patients died on Wednesday and Thursday.

A total of 315 deaths have now been confirmed at the trust, which runs Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.

Only two other deaths were recorded across hospitals in Essex, at the Basildon and Thurrock Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Mid Essex Hospital Trust.

Across England, a further 121 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,387.

A spokesman for NHS England said: "Patients were aged between 41 and 98 years old.

"Three of the 121 patients, aged between 50 and 91, had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."
