A CREATIVE 21-year-old has made a parody music video to Alphabeat’s hit Fascination to lift people’s spirits during lockdown.

Jodie Hunt has replaced the words of the noughties’ anthem with lyrics which capture the struggles of living in isolation during the Covid-19 outbreak.

The entertainment manager, who filmed the parody at home, said the lyrics also highlight the importance of staying inside to support NHS frontline staff.

Jodie, of Ramsey Road, Dovercourt, who used to work for Border Force at Harwich International Port, said: “I was inspired to create a video as my dad, brother, uncle and sister are all key workers so I wanted to do something that would support them as well as cheering people up and raising their spirits in such an awful time.

“Although it was a bit of fun it has a clear message that we need to isolate to save our NHS and the world.

“The song I chose to parody was Fascination by Alphabeat.

“This is because it’s a catchy song that’s repetitive so everyone can sing along to it.

“The song hasn’t actually left my own head to be honest.”

Jodie said the concept of the parody was to make people smile about an issue they can all relate to.

She said: “I wanted to make the video funny as I’m sure everyone needs a bit of cheering up in this time.”

Jodie spent many years as part of a band, but now performs a lot on her own at events.

She added: “I’m very tempted to do another parody but I’m seeing how well this one goes first.”

Hundreds of people have seen Jodie’s parody on You Tube already and it has also been aired the radio.

The lyrics:

Easy

Living.

That’s what they said,

Or we’d be dead.

Rampage.

In the isles,

Loo rolls all gone,

This is vile.

Isolation

Isolation

It's just the way we feel.

Isolation

Isolation

It's just the way we feel.

We need to save the nation (woh oh, o-o-oh).

Dislike this isolation (woh oh, o-o-oh).

Key workers at their stations (woh oh, o-o-oh).

We live in isolation.

Helping.

Saving our lives.

Staying inside.

Will be alright.

Easy

Living.

This is our fight

It’ll be alright

Isolation

Isolation

It's just the way we feel.

We need to save the nation (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

Dislike this isolation (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

Key workers in their stations (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

We live in isolation.

Save the world - save the NHS

I-so-la-tion!

We need to save the nation (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

Dislike this isolation (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

Key workers in their stations (woh oh, o-o-o-oh).

We live in isolation.
