A MULTI-MILLION pound development which has been 15 years in the making has finally been completed, marking the final piece of the puzzle in Hythe waterfront’s regeneration.

Property and construction consultants Ingleton Wood worked with Heritage Development to create 37 apartments overlooking the River Colne, in Ballantyne Drive, Colchester.

The £5 million scheme, called Colne View, originally received planning approval in 2006, but construction stalled due to the financial crash.

In 2015, Ingleton Wood was appointed as architects and now, after a decade and-a-half, the eight-storey apartment block is complete and sold out.

Alec Hunter, senior associate and architect at Ingleton Wood, said:“We made use of modern light gauge steel construction to accelerate the project which has resulted in an energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing building.”

Colne View is part of Colchester Council’s Colne Harbour masterplan.
