A FOOD giant is making an urgent appeal for machine operatives, production and warehouse staff to help meet “unprecedented demand” at its site in Parkeston.
Surya Foods is in need of dozens of extra hands to help fill positions at its main manufacturing site.
Suki Dulai, Surya Foods chief executive, said: “The world looks quite different at the moment and we all have a role to play in meeting the challenges that lie ahead.
“As a leading food supplier in the UK it is essential that we remain operational and efficient during this outbreak because our business has an important role to play in the British food supply chain.
“However, whilst remaining operational, we have implemented social distancing across our business, as per the advice of the UK Government, with the majority of our head office staff now working from home.”
Staff involved in food production, sales and delivery are considered key workers and will be granted special support to work throughout lockdown.
