A CHARITY has been forced to postpone one of its new fundraisers this weekend due to severe weather conditions.
St Helena Hospice has postponed its inaugural Frosty 5k event, which was set to take place on Saturday at Essex University, due to predicted high winds.
Lisa Chenery, events fundraiser, said: "As an organisation, our number one priority when planning our events is our participants’ safety.
"The themed zones on the 5k course feature inflatables and because of the wind warnings, unfortunately we have deemed the event too unsafe to go ahead.
“We apologise to everyone who was looking forward to taking part on Saturday.
"We are postponing this brrr-illiant event until Saturday November 14 and we hope you can join us then.”
