MOUNTAIN rescuers had to crawl against the high powered winds of Storm Ciara to rescue two walkers lost in Snowdonia.
Already "battered" by 80mph plus gusts which hit region on Saturday, the pair lost their way on Elidir Fawr after losing their family group.
They then got stuck between an area of rock and water.
The Ogwen Mountain Rescue team were called to the Marchlyn Mawr area at around 2pm. Marchlyn Mawr is a high level lake behind Elidir Fawr mountain.
On Facebook the team described how a large family group had gone for a walk, but two of them had fallen behind.
Unsure of their way off Elidir Fawr, the pair had tried to follow the ridge line down to the Llyn, but got stuck.
During the rescue, th Ogwen were supporting the Llanberis Mountain Rescuers while they were on another rescue.
The team members were driven up to the dam by Llanberis MRT and then walked in to help the casualties.
In a Facebook post the Ogwen Mountain Rescue said:"Once ready, the casualties were helped up the ridge and the group returned to the vehicle with team members having to crawl at times to make headway in the wind."
