A SCAM warning has been issued after reports of fake traffic wardens pestering people for cash.
A North Essex Parking Partnership spokesman said none of their staff ever handled money on the streets.
They said: “We’re aware of a scam where fake traffic wardens are asking the public to pay them directly for parking tickets.
"Our traffic wardens will never ask for any payments from motorists.
"If you wish to verify a parking payment request in north Essex, please contact us."
