SURGERY bosses are celebrating after a glowing inspection report where they were given the highest possible rating.

The Tollgate Clinic - which is based at the Tollgate Health Centre in London Road, Stanway, has been rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors from the health watchdog visited the clinic, which provides a range of minor surgical procedures.

A report just published said they were rated as good in the categories of safe, effective and caring and outstanding in the areas of responsive and well-led giving them an overall outstanding rating.

The clinic’s general manager Caroline Brock praised staff for their work to make the surgery such a success.

“We welcome the Care Quality Commission’s rigorous inspection process as it provides an external assessment of the quality of our services,” she said.

“I’d like to congratulate all of the incredible staff at the Tollgate Clinic for all of their hard work and dedication that has enabled us to achieve such positive feedback and ratings across all five Care Quality Commission criteria.”

In her report, Dr Rosie Benneyworth, chief inspector of primary medical services and integrated care, said: “Patient feedback we received on comment cards was extremely and consistently positive.

“Many of them told us the care and treatment provided by the staff exceeded their expectations and that they went the extra mile to ensure patients received excellent care.

“Patient feedback was clear, they were active partners and fully involved in decisions about their care and treatment.

“We saw evidence of a culture that tailored their services to meet the needs of people on an individual basis.

“They ensured flexibility and patient centred involved choices in their care and treatment.”

Managing director Paul Cooke, said he was delighted with the results of the inspection.

“We are delighted to report the CQC found the Tollgate Clinic’s services to be safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led and our staff are dedicated to achieving the best they can for all who use our services,” he added.
