A TEENAGE boy has been banned from a Southampton college after he was caught with a knife outside the building.
The 17-year-old boy was caught carrying a knife on March 25 outside Southampton City College on St Mary's Street.
Police received a report just after 4pm on March 25 last year that a boy was seen outside of the college in possession of a knife.
The boy has now been banned from entering the college.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, the boy pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of carrying a knife in a public place.
He was handed a youth rehabilitation order in which he must attend appointments with a relevant officer for six months, and he must not enter Southampton City College.
He was also ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge.
The Daily Echo contacted Southampton City College but they did not respond.
