STORM Brendan battered north Essex but the area escaped without serious damage.
Essex Police’s local policing team in Tendring was kept busy on Tuesday night attending to fallen trees across the district including at Weeley and Wrabness.
A spokesman said: “Officers attended fallen trees across the district and at each incident they received a huge amount of help from the public.”
Police asked people to be patient if a road is blocked by a fallen tree and reminded motorists to drive carefully.
The first railway services of the day between Marks Tey and Sudbury were cancelled because fallen trees had damaged trains but were back up and running by 8am.
Storm-related power cuts were reported in Langham, Wivenhoe and Rowhedge.
