POPULAR former Southend United striker Barry Corr has been named manager of St Neots Town.
Corr, who scored 63 goals for the Shrimpers in 185 outings before leaving in 2015, will combine his new role with his current position as development coach at Cambridge United.
And Cambridge's head of football Ben Strang revealed the U's had been keen to copy the programme set up between Colchester United and Maldon & Tiptree.
“We have observed a similar model between Colchester United and Maldon & Tiptree, and think that there is significant value to both clubs of working together," said Strang.
"This link provides a further developmental pathway for our young players and exposes them to a senior football environment, with direction from Cambridge United.”
St Neots Town are currently second from bottom in BetVictor Southern League Division One Central.
