PRIMARY school pupils have collected much-needed donations for a foodbank's Christmas appeal.
Friars Grove Primary School in Colchester organised the collection for Colchester foodbank.
The school's Learning Support Assistants, Rachel Hynes and Kim Sherwood, rallied the students together to contribute to the cause.
A spokesman for the school said: "After a very successful Harvest Festival collection for Colchester Foodbank, two of our support staff, Rachel Hynes and Kim Sherwood thought it would be a nice idea to support the Foodbank's Christmas appeal.
"Our parents and staff have been very generous and we already have 11 boxes to donate.
"We would like to promote this cause to highlight the importance of providing festive parcels for individuals and families in crisis and facing hardship over the festive season."
