ROAD bosses have insisted a junction where three cars crashed is safe, despite concerns being raised by residents.

The smash at the site where the A133 meets School Road in Elmstead Market saw three people hospitalised on Sunday night.

Residents raised concern about the safety of the junction.

However, a spokesman for Essex Highways said the lines would be repainted when engineers were next in the area but the area was not dangerous.

He said: “There are a number of indications of the approaching junction at this location, in addition to the still visible white lines.

“These include an enlarged, yellow background Give Way sign which is 50 metres from the junction, with another Give Way sign at the junction itself.”
