Only time will tell how crucial Jordan Pavett's last-gasp strike may be for Halstead Town in their Thurlow Nunn League division one clash with Lopes Tavares.

But it certainly gave his team a feelgood factor in the short-term as it grabbed them the point that was the least that their endeavours deserved after an entertaining 90 minutes against the leaders.

Halstead had to twice come from behind to draw with Tavares after twice falling behind to Richard Kone strikes, but a goal from Chris Harris and the 95th minute leveller from Pavett earned the Humbugs a vital point.

It was the second weekend running that Pavett had stepped off the bench to deliver an important goal for Halstead.

However, they found themselves dropping a place to fourth as Holland FC moved up into the top three with a 5-0 victory at bottom club Fire United.

Just above them, Little Oakley held on to second spot despite not having a game after their trip to Coggeshall United was postponed by a waterlogged pitch.

Just below are Wivenhoe Town and the Dragons stayed fifth after a 0-0 stalemate at White Ensign and there was also a draw for Harwich & Parkeston as the the Shrimpers drew 2-2 with visiting May & Baker.

In the premier division, Brantham Athletic were another side drawing 2-2 as the Imps were held on the road at Whitton United.
