HARWICH and Parkeston assistant manager Mike Wallace has thanked two companies for their help in clearing an area behind one of the goals at the Gwinnell and Sons Royal Oak.
The Shrimpers are making space for a training pitch behind the goal at the dressing-room end of the ground.
Healey Tool Hire and Sales and 4 Seasons landscaping and skip hire both pitched in by lending the club equipment to get the first phase of the project complete.
"It's being entirely funded by the club, with the help of local people and businesses," said Wallace.
"And that's why we're so grateful, because it wouldn't be possible otherwise.
"We're hoping it's going to be a big addition for our club and something everyone will benefit from, from six-year-olds through to the senior players.
"It's going to cost a significant amount but with the help of the community, we're hoping to keep those costs down.
"If anyone else can help in any way, we'd be really pleased to hear from them."
Wallace can be contacted on 07507 862997.
