A MAN from Colchester has been jailed for two years for making sickening images of children.

Nicholas Fisk, 32, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court after admitting six counts of making indecent photographs of children.

Officers from Essex Police's Police Online Investigation Team arrested Fisk in August.

The team specialise in carrying out intelligence-led warrants.

Fisk's phone was seized and four further phones belonging to him were handed in at Colchester Police Station several weeks later, having been recovered from an address he’d been staying at.

Between both devices, officers discovered 200 films and 43 pictures, which had been dated between January 2018 and August this year.

The images and videos were described as some of the worst the reviewing officer had ever seen.

In total, 172 of the films and 25 of the photographs were Category A, the most serious offences.

The majority of material related to children under the age of 10-years-old.

As a result of the work by officers, a total of seven children under the age of 12 were safeguarded.

Fisk was jailed for two years and was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order which will last a decade.

The order means he will be unable to own a phone or computer without prior approval from police officers.

Upon delivering her sentencing, Judge Patricia Lynch urged Fisk to “consider the pain and suffering” of the victims of this crime, who were among the most “vulnerable in society” and were being used for his gratification.

Investigating officer PC Cliff Pell said: “Behind every indecent image of a child is a vulnerable victim and these crimes are among the most abhorrent that we investigate as police officers.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to bring offenders such as Fisk to justice for their horrendous crimes.”
