A BRAND new festival which jumps in the slime craze is coming this half term.

Slime Fest comes to Five Lakes Resort in Tolleshunt Knights on Monday.

The event celebrates all things slimy, with families being given the opportunity to make slime, take part in experiments and be entertained by special guests.

There are two sessions, from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

The festival stage will be headlined by Britain’s Got Talent finalists 4MG, who are a group of teen magicians, and the event will be hosted by South Woodham Ferrers entertainer and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Graeme Mathews – aka Bam Bam.

Graeme said: “Everyone will get to make their own unique pot of slime to take home in our slime-making Slime Labs.

“Aside from slime creation, there are lots of other activities such as our main stage packed with live shows, interactive entertainment, big science, special guest stars, slime-themed games and competitions – and the biggest, craziest, messy rave you have ever seen.

“Some of the UK’s leading slime sellers and experts will also have stands on the day selling their slime.

“It’s not just slime - we have magic, music, giant bubbles in Professor Bubblepop’s Bubble Zone, meet-and-greets and more.”

Slime was originally made by Mattel in 1976 but there has been a resurgence in its popularity in recent years.

Tickets are £12.99 and under-threes go free. For details, visit slimefest.co.uk.
