A MAN caught with a knife and a hammer has avoided an immediate jail term.

Bradley Lee had the weapons in Maldon Road, Colchester.

The 24-year-old, of no fixed address, admitted possessing them at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

He was given a four month prison term suspended for a year and must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and attend rehabilitation sessions.

Lee must also pay £207 in court charges.

A MAN has been jailed after admitting racially-aggravated harassment.

David Wade, of St Peter's Street, Colchester, also admitted threatening to break windows belonging to a housing association property and assaulting a police officer at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

The 34-year-old was jailed for 30 weeks as he was already on a suspended sentence at the time.

A MAN has admitted being more than twice the drink drive limit behind the wheel of a high-powered luxury car.

Samuel Borgman was driving a Jaguar XJ when he was caught in September.

The 39-year-old had 84mcgs per 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Borgam of Abbey Field View, Colchester, admitted drink driving at court, was handed a 20 month ban and was fined £1,000.

He must pay £185 in other court charges.

A MAN caught with a knuckle duster has been jailed.

Lee Jackson had the weapon in Tamarisk Way, Colchester.

After the admitted the offence at Colchester Magistrates' Court, it became the third time the 50-year-old had been convicted of possessing an offensive weapon.

Jackson, of Military Road, Colchester, also admitted possession of cannabis.

He was jailed for five months and must pay a £122 victim surcharge.
