POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Grays.
The 40-year-old victim was punched and needed surgery for a broken jaw.
The incident happened shortly after 12.30am on October 12 on the forecourt of the Esso petrol station on the A1013 Stanford Road, Grays.
A police spokesman said: "We have spoken to a number of witnesses but are looking to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time who saw what happened.
"The suspect was described as a man with blond hair, who was driving a black Ford Focus.
"Witnesses are asked to call DC Nicola Hadfield at Grays CID on 101 quoting reference 42/162535/19."
