BAVARIAN bratwursts with a twist were on offer at a vegan Oktoberfest.
Shakers Dairy Free in Colchester hosted the unique event to promote their ethical independent business.
The cafe in Eld Lane hosted a feast with traditional style bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels and mustard plus a special dessert of apple strudel - all made using vegan ingredients.
They served traditional style Oktoberfest vegan beers and some fun themed shakes.
The unique eats went down a treat with visitors.
Organiser Alex Coulter said it was a brilliant day.
She said: “Colchester’s first vegan Oktoberfest was a huge success.
“All seats were filled for the full four hours of food, drink and live music by Band Of Fools members Madam Bellows and Sim Torino.
“We will also be offering our Oktoberfest menu of traditional style bratwurst, bockwurst and sauerkraut for the rest of the month due to the popularity and demand shown.
“We are also planning a bigger and better Colchester Vegan Oktoberfest for next year.”
