A COMMUNITY show has been hailed a success by organisers.
The Maplesteads Autumn Show committee paid tribute to everyone who supported this year’s show.
They said the hall was filled with an array of fruit, vegetables and flowers despite a very difficult growing season.
A spokesman said: “There were jars of jam, chutneys and pickles, as well as cakes, bread and eggs and some beautiful photographs.
“The craft section was well supported with some amazing handicrafts and paintings, and the children’s section was wonderful with their delicious cookery, creative seed heads and decorated wellies.
“The men’s section was also very tempting with their delicious flap jacks.
“Thanks go to Councillor Jo Beavis who not only judged the entries for the Domestic Cup but presented the cups and trophies to the worthy winners as well.”
An auction rounded off the event.
Chairman Carol Brownlie thanked everyone for their support and looks forward to seeing them at the Autumn Show in September next year.
