A MAN has died after being hit by a car outside a train station.

Police have now confirmed the man who was hit outside Marks Tey Railway Station on Wednesday morning has died in hospital.

The man in his 50s was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a green Land Rover Discovery.

Officers are still appealing for witnesses.

Nobody has been arrested.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A man has sadly died today following a collision in Marks Tey.

"The man, who is aged in his 50s, died in hospital surrounded by his family following a collision in Station Road at around 7.25am on Wednesday.

"It follows reports that a man and a green Land Rover Discover collided.

"No-one has been arrested and we are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.

"Anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to officers, or has dash cam footage available to view, is urged to contact us.
