CAMPAIGNERS are hosting an event to highlight the importance of library staff.
Save Wivenhoe Library and Save Our Libraries Essex (SOLE) campaigners are holding a ‘Planet Earth' event at Wivenhoe Library on Saturday, September 28.
It will run from 10am until1pm and then from 2pm until 4pm.
It will include a ‘David Attenborough’ selfie opportunity, a book detective quiz, children’s art and craft activities, live music and refreshments.
This is part of a county-wide day of action to highlight the vital importance of Essex County Council funding for library services and professional library staff.
Campaigners are concerned about community groups taking over Essex libraries.
Similar events will take place on the same day across the county, including in Manningtree, Colchester and Tendring.
