CROWDS watched in awe as stunning horses circled the showring at the Suffolk Horse Spectacular.

The fun day out was hosted at Marks Hall Estate in Coggeshall and visitors were blessed with sunshine.

Horses were put through their paces during a variety of challenging heavy horse activities.

Visitors also enjoyed browsing craft and trade stands, trying their hand at fly-fishing and archery, seeing gun dogs being worked and refreshing themselves at food and drink stalls.

The event was in aid of the Suffolk Horse Society and the society said it was a huge event.

A spokesman said: “This is our biggest charity event so a lot of work has gone into the show. Watching it all come together is rewarding but exhausting.

“This isn’t just your normal small village fete, we are talking more than 30 Suffolks including mares and foals in one place, more than 30 trade stands, alpacas, gun dogs, dog agility, donkey rides, horse gymkhana, horse fancy dress and the list keeps going.

“Supporting the Suffolk Horse Society and this amazing breed is definitely rewarding and seeing the public understand why it’s important to keep this breed alive is even more important.”

Visitors could talk to the owners and learn about the beautiful breed.

Marks Hall said they were delighted to welcome the society.
