A PARTY to celebrate the re-opening of East Tilbury’s hub and library will take place later this month.
On August 31, children and adults can join library staff and the Mayor of Thurrock, Councillor Terry Piccolo, at the newly refurbished hub, library and Bata Heritage Centre from 10am to 3pm. Refreshments and family activities will be on offer, and children are invited to dress as a science fiction characters.
Back in January 2017, firefighters battled the laze at the library after a car was reversed into the building and set alight.
Two crews from Grays and one crew from Orsett were called to the fire.
The fire was contained in the foyer area and that the fire doors restricted the potential damage that could have been caused.
Days later thieves broke into the library to steal cash.
