GPs in north Essex are encouraging people to prepare for the August bank holiday weekend.

GP practices will be closed on Monday August 26.

Dr Prashant Arora, GP at St James’ Surgery in Clacton, said: “Keep a basic supply of medicines such as sticking plasters, diarrhoea remedy, paracetamol and antihistamines at home.

"By doing so you’ll be equipped to deal with common ailments quickly and easily.

“Some pharmacies will be open on the bank holiday Monday and are the place to go for help and advice if you are feeling unwell.

"NHS 111 by phone and online offers urgent medical help and advice 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

This is where and when pharmacies will be open on Monday.
