Suspiciously Elvis

Lewes Constitutional Club, Lewes, tomorrow

Ivor Potter is Brighton’s answer to the King of Rock and Roll.

Taking to the stage dressed as Elvis himself, Ivor works his way through the King’s greatest hits with more than a little hip-swinging enthusiasm.

The show features a full eight-piece band and backing singers, and transport fans back to one of Elvis’s early Seventies Las Vegas shows.

There are plenty of tribute acts out there but if you want to see a homegrown star mimic the man who took rock and roll by storm this is the place to be.

Ride

Resident Records, Brighton, Monday

After an 18-year hiatus, British music fans were ecstatic when alternative rockers Ride announced their reunion.

The group took the charts by storm in the late Eighties and early Nineties, releasing four albums which had successful runs in the charts.

The band’s new album, This Is Not A Safe Place, is released today and to celebrate they will be performing an intimate acoustic show at Resident Records on Monday.

The popular record store is not big so go early if you want a prime viewing spot.
