THE shocking discovery of a samurai sword in Heybridge shows there are serious dangers in places you would never expect.
The two-and-a-half-foot blade was found by parish council litter-pickers over the weekend
The parish council chairman, Simon Burwood, said the finding of the weapon proves “we need to be more vigilant”, and these words should be echoed throughout the district.
Knife crime is present in every community and the fact a weapon this dangerous was found in Heybridge, an area considered as quiet, should be a warning to everyone.
Mr Burwood is right to be “relieved” the sword is off the street, but there still could be more.
