MORE than £700 was raised at a special gig in honour of a missing man.

Anthony Stammers disappeared from his home in Mile End Road, Colchester, more than seven years ago.

His family and friends, including parents Julie and Rob, continue their search for Anthony leaving posters of him in towns and cities.

Anthony, 34, used to be in a band with best friends Steve Pooran, Charlie Charlton and Harry Agar.

They organised a charity gig at the Coda jazz bar in Colchester High Street in his name.

The event was in aid of the Missing People charity which supports the families of loved ones who have gone missing.

Julie Stammers said: “It went really well, it was a really good evening.

“It is always emotional but everybody said they enjoyed it.

“The bands were really great and they all gave their time and talent for free.”

“Coda staff were so kind, nothing was too much trouble.

“Most of the bands mentioned Anthony and Rob and I went on stage to talk about why we were there.”

Acts playing included PET NEEDS, The Two Jonnies, Louisa Charrington and The Gin Twins.
