POLICE are warning residents in Tendring to be on their guard against employing cold callers to work on their home.
Officers in the district have received a number of reports after unsuspecting residents employed suspected scammers to carry out work on homes, gardens and driveways.
Tendring Police are now warning people not to employ any cold callers that offer to do work at their property.
PC Dan Heard, from the town centre team, said: “If you live in the Tendring area do not employ cold callers that offer to do work on your house, garden or driveway.
“You could be scammed into paying more money for work completed.
“Be aware of your rights when employing people at your address.”
Residents are also being advised to keep an eye on their elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbours.
Residents are also asked to call the police on 101 if anyone offcers to do work for cash in hand.
