THE first class at a therapeutic book club has graduated after a six-week course.
The See and Stretch Therapeutic Book Club held at Colchester Leisure World was set up to support young people who attend Market Field College.
The Elmstead Market students have been able to learn more about life experiences through picture books and stretches.
Sport For Confidence teamed up with Beyond Words to launch the club.
It increases awareness of important issues like being active, bullying, depression, bereavement and belonging.
Lyndee Oscar, project designer and osteopath, said: “All the students have gained new skills and more importantly for them gained the confidence to hold a See and Stretch Book Club at their college.
“This is a great achievement for them and the club will continue at their college in September, with them facilitating it.”
The next See and Stretch Book Club will begin in September and will be open to the general public as well as schools.
It will be held on a Monday morning at Leisure World.
