I WAS never a fan of Sir Bob Russell when he was an MP.

However, since then, I have come to see him as a man to be seriously listened to regarding the affairs of Colchester.

I have learnt his heart is certainly in the right place when it comes to those issues.

Especially when he writes, once again, to highlight the undemocratic behaviour of that secretive cabal that call themselves a council.

This shady, underhand clutch of self serving individuals, interested only in their own self aggrandisement, have shown repeatedly they couldn't manage to organise a knees-up in a brewery, so to speak.

The latest cock-up concerns the 250-year Cultural Quarter lease; ill thought out and grossly mishandled.

Thank goodness this shabby bunch of failures were not responsible for getting a man to the moon all those years ago. I doubt the mission would even have left the launch pad.

But, citizens of Colchester, you have yourselves to blame, for voting in these abject failures.

Make sure you get them out when the next opportunity arrives.

And a well done to Sir Bob. Keep telling it like it is.
