The northbound carriageway is partially blocked
Drivers are facing long delays on the A12 this afternoon after a four vehicle smash.
The northbound carriageway was partially blocked between junction 21 and 22 at Witham following the crash, which happened after 2.30pm.
Four vehicles were said to have been involved in the collisions and traffic queued as far back as Hatfield Peverel.

The road was cleared just after 3.30pm but traffic remains heavy.
