A WOMAN will be following in the footsteps of her parents by joining the police

PC Ciera Cox, 22, celebrated passing out on June 28, by having a meal with her parents – Essex officers Lisa and Colin Cox.

Ciera will undergo ten weeks of training with Braintree Local Policing Team following the ceremony.

She will work closely with her dad, who is an Inspector with Braintree and Uttlesford Community Policing Team, and her mother Lisa, who safeguards domestic abuse victims through our Central Referral Unit.

Over the generations, all three have vowed to protect and serve their communities, with Lisa and Colin dedicating a total of 35 years to the force.

Colin said: “I had a real proud father moment yesterday and it was nice knowing I shared it with many other overjoyed mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles and relatives.

“Our policing family has extended, and I’m delighted that Ciera is following in her parent’s footsteps.

“We’re all passionate about policing and community and with Ciera on board, it truly shows our commitment to protecting Essex.”
