AN ALBION fan says he is sorry after being banned for selling on tickets.

The teenager was given the ban after selling on tickets to Brighton and Hove Albion’s last home game of the 2018/19 season against Manchester City.

The 17-year-old had used the membership numbers of other Albion fans to acquire the in-demand tickets.

City ended up lifting the Premier League trophy at the Amex after beating the Seagulls 4-1.

The teenager made £350 from selling the tickets on.

Club officials have confirmed he has been banned for five years.

The Seagulls fan, who lives in Suffolk but travels to most Albion games, is a popular figure among Albion fans.

His YouTube channel has more than 12,000 subscribers.

On his channel he regularly details his trips to Albion games, home and away, and comments on issues surrounding the club, like the new manager and new kits.

In a statement posted on Albion fans forum North Stand Chat the teenager said: “I was influenced by a mate to sell on tickets to City fans.

“I sold on 17, however four fifths of those were to genuine Brighton fans.

“Some accounts I didn’t get permission [to use] at all. Some I did. But I still lied.”

He added that the club got in contact with him and gave him his bad news in a meeting last week.

He has now apologised for his actions but said there were no bad intentions behind it.

He said: “I have to pay the price with my five year ban. I know I’m in the wrong in this situation and deserve the ban. I own up and regret anything that had happened.

“I did not keep all of the profit.

“The people in the meeting were kind enough to only give me five years and for that I am grateful.”

In his online statement the teenager said that issues with his mental health played an impact on his decision making but that he is not using that as an excuse.

He said: “I have bad anxiety.

“Some situations got really bad, multiple anxiety attacks in my room.

“I was worried about the future and finance became an issue.

“I’ve let my mates, fans, family and Brighton as a whole down.

“I’m a human, I make mistakes.

“I’m so sorry.”

Since the statement was released he has deleted his Twitter account but his YouTube still remains up as of the time of writing.
