Our next Prime Minister is to be elected by Conservative party members, some 16,000, aided by 300 odd Conservative MPs, a miniscule number compared to a total electorate of 46,148,000. To have a Prime Minister imposed on the UK by such a small number of people is hardly democratic. The resignation of a Prime Minister should automatically trigger a General Election. I can only hope the forthcoming mini election is the last.
