A TEENAGER has raised more than £200 for Cancer Research by taking on a solo walk.

Bobbi-Jo Lindsell walked from the LV18 on Harwich Quay to the One Stop shop in Dovercourt on Sunday.

The 15-year-old head student at Harwich and Dovercourt High School wanted to raise money for the cancer charity after her cousin was diagnosed.

Mum Jane, said: "Cancer is close to her heart.

"Bobbi-Jo's cousin was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma last year, she is 21.

"Once she got the all clear Bobbi-Jo decided to do this walk.

"She's seen the women to those long walks on the television and decided she wanted to do one.

"She did all the fundraising herself and did really well.

"She walked the seafront route to the One Stop and we measured the distance on Googlemaps and it was 5k.

"Her target was £200 but she raised a huge £261.

"She done us all proud."
