PUPILS pounded the pavements to raise money for a cancer charity
St John the Baptist Primary School in Pebmarsh hosted a Race for Life event, raising more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Children took part in running, skipping and dancing 15 laps around the school playing field.
To make the fundraiser even more exciting, they exercised in pink T-shirts, wigs and tutus.
Following the sponsored 3K race, the school managed to raise a total of £1,400 for the charity.
Key stage one teacher Charlea De’Ath organised the event.
She said she was very proud of all the pupils for getting into the fundraising spirit.
She said: “The atmosphere created during the afternoon was amazing. It was lovely to see all of our pupils so determined to complete their 15 laps around the school grounds and encouraging one another throughout.
“We may be a small school but we have a massive heart.”
