THE yee haw spirit of Nashville will gallop into Witham next week when a touring show performs songs from some of the greatest, most revered and upcoming country music artists.

Strictly Nashville, a story-telling six-piece band of musicians fronted by singing father-daughter duo Bob and Harriet Drury, will bring the unmistakable sounds of country to Witham Public Hall.

Performing famous songs from a genre synonymous with what is often considered to be the music capital of the world, as well as the epicentre of country artists, Strictly Nashville’s celebration of classic tunes will explore stalwarts such as Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers and Garth Brooks.

Hit tracks from some of the more modern and contemporary country icons such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will also be given an airing for younger cowgirls and cowboys in the audience.

Capitalising on their family connection and synchronicity, Bob and Harriet will also indulge in several iconic country duets.

Guitarist and head honcho Rob, whose highly acclaimed shows have sold out theatres across the country for the past eight years, has been perfecting his musical craft since he was a teenager and is also renowned for fronting two touring Neil Diamond tribute acts.

He said: “The show has been on the road for about a year now and the reaction has been really great.

“The mix of Seventies classic country with so called ‘New Country’ seems to hit the mark with those who have seen the show so far.

“We don’t try to impersonate any acts – we just bring their music to life.”

Strictly Nashville is at Witham Public Hall on June 28 from 7pm.

Tickets are £18 from withampublichall.com or by calling 0345 017 8717.

Gig-goers can also get their hands on tickets from the Witham Town Hall information centre.
