Drivers have been told to find a different route after a hole opened up on the A12.
Traffic on the northbound carriageway between junction 21 and 22 at Witham is slow because of the incident.
A12 Northbound – Partially blocked between J21 (Witham S/B1389) and J22 (Witham N/B1389) due to an unknown incident. Traffic is slow moving.

Special Constable Wayne David tweeted: "A12 northbound we have a lane closure in-between the Witham junctions due to a hole in lane one.
"@PCJamesIreland and I are awaiting highways. Please take care and maybe find a different route."

Traffic is queuing back to junction 20 at Hatfield Peverel.
Mr David has since tweeted to say Essex Higwhays has carried out temporary repairs on the hole.
The lane has reopened and traffic has eased.
