COMEDY writer, director and actor Chris Morris is the most searched person from Colchester on Wikipedia, it has been revealed.

Morris, famous for his controversial TV series Brass Eye as well as indie film Four Lions, beat the likes of Blur's Damon Albarn, football legend Vic Keeble and TV presenter Dermot O'Leary to the crown.

The figures have been released as part of a new UK-wide map produced by The Pudding.

Former UKIP politician Jeffrey Titford was the most searched name from Mersea and perhaps unsurprisingly John Constable was the most Wikipedia’ed name from Dedham.

Author Jennifer Worth is the most searched name from Clacton and popstar Olly Murs topped the list for Witham.
